Cathaìr nan Diathàn – The city of Gods

Cathaìr nan Diathàn is the last city where the Gods still regularly visit.

Here they occasionally grant small favours to those in need, if they deem them worthy.

Sometimes they bestow incredible Blessings, usually on their most devout followers, or sometimes -in really rare cases- on someone they find interesting or worthy enough.

These ‘Divine Blessings’ are as rare as they are powerful, ranging from immortality, accurately predicting the future, speaking with animals to healing any wounds or injuries.

However, these Divine Blessings come with strings attached.
Anyone who has received a Blessing, is told there are certain conditions that have to be met to retain and use said Blessing.

In general it’s something simple, such as staying devout to the God that granted the Blessing, or to not cause harm, or in some cases to do just that: cause harm.
It all depends on the God, and at times, on the Blessing.

As long as the conditions are met, the Blessed Ones are able to perform feats that are as close to miracles as can be.

If the conditions are broken, the Blessing will be withdrawn.
Usually without warning.
And in some cases, depending on the God and how the breach occurred, a penalty will be applied.

One of the most horrific examples is the famous tale of Aelwynn.

Her story is a tragic one, widely known and taught throughout the world to children, warning them not to squander a Divine Blessing.
